Hapoel Be'er Sheva to Sign Ghanaian Midfielder Amankwah Forson

Hapoel Be'er Sheva is set to finalize the signing of Ghanaian midfielder Amankwah Forson, 23, from Norwich City within the next 24 hours. This move marks the culmination of a week-long recruitment drive for the club following their match against Sabach in Baku, during which they aimed to add three players, including two foreigners and one Israeli.

Forson's arrival will make him the eighth foreign player on Hapoel Be'er Sheva's roster. He joins Adrian Grbic, who is also expected to sign soon, and Idan Nahmias, who has already been added to the squad.

Forson, standing at 1.73 meters, began his career at the WAFA academy in Ghana before moving to Red Bull Salzburg in February 2021. He initially played for Liefering in the Austrian second division, scoring six goals in 29 league appearances, and was later loaned to Altach.

Upon returning to Salzburg, Forson became part of the senior team, playing 35 Austrian Bundesliga matches and scoring two goals, in addition to four Champions League appearances. In August 2024, Norwich City acquired him from Salzburg for approximately £4 million, signing him to a four-year contract. During his first two seasons at Norwich, he made 40 Championship appearances and scored four goals.

Forson is also a member of the Ghanaian national team, having debuted in March 2024 against Nigeria. He has earned two caps for Ghana to date.
