Hapoel Be'er Sheva Nears Deal for Norwich City Midfielder Amankwah Forson

Hapoel Be'er Sheva is reportedly close to signing 23-year-old Ghanaian midfielder Amankwah Forson from Norwich City. Forson, who joined Norwich from RB Salzburg for 4.5 million euros, has had a disappointing spell with the English club, marked by injuries and a drop in the team's hierarchy.

Last season, Forson played in 20 matches across all competitions, scoring two goals and providing one assist. He suffered hamstring injuries that sidelined him for nearly four months, impacting his standing within the team. Despite returning in March and contributing to wins, he was not integrated into the senior squad for the current season's preparations and was moved to reserve team training.

Several clubs, including a reported interest from his former club RB Salzburg, have been linked with Forson. Norwich manager David Wagner acknowledged that multiple clubs are interested in Forson, both domestically and internationally, and expressed confidence that a suitable solution would be found.

Israeli sports commentator Eyal Lachman described Forson as a versatile attacking player, capable of playing on the wings and as a forward, contrasting him with Hapoel Be'er Sheva's current midfielder Kings Kangwa, who is a natural central player. Lachman suggested Forson might be more suited to a winger role but could adapt to playing centrally, comparing his style to Dan Biton rather than Kangwa.
