Dolev Haziza is not expected to stay at Maccabi Haifa next season. The club has told the captain he is not in its plans for 2026/27, and he is expected to keep looking for another team.
That means Haifa will need a new captain. Haziza had already taken over the role from Charon Sherry after Sherry left, and when Haziza was not in the starting lineup, the armband was often worn by Abdoulaye Seck, who has also since left the club.
Veteran Sean Goldberg did not wear the armband during the current season, since he was not a regular starter throughout 2026/27. Kenny Saief wore it in two top-group playoff matches, in a win over Hapoel Petah Tikva and a loss to Hapoel Be'er Sheva.
Other possible candidates include Ali Mohamed, who has been with the club since 2021 and also wore the captain's armband at times, and Pierre Cornud, who is expected to return during the season after a long injury layoff.
