Dolev Haziza is not expected to stay at Maccabi Haifa next season, and the club has told the captain that he is not part of its plans for 2026/27. He is therefore expected to keep looking for another team, which means the Greens will need to appoint a new skipper.
Haziza himself replaced Tjaronn Chery after Chery left the club. When Haziza did not start, the armband was often worn by Abdoulaye Seck, who has since left as well. Veteran Sean Goldberg did not wear the captain's armband this season, partly because he was not a regular starter throughout 2026/27.
Kenny Saief wore the captain's armband in two top-flight playoff matches, in a win over Hapoel Petah Tikva and a loss to Hapoel Be'er Sheva. Other possible candidates include Ali Mohamed, who has been at the club since 2021 and also wore the armband at times, and Pierre Cornud, who is expected to return during the season after a long injury layoff.
