Maccabi Haifa Reaches Compensation Deal with Captain Dolev Haziza Ahead of Transfer to Maccabi Netanya
Maccabi Haifa is set to officially part ways with their captain, Dolev Haziza, who was informed several weeks ago that he was not in the club's plans for the 2026/27 season. Haziza is expected to sign with Maccabi Netanya following a lengthy negotiation period during which he continued training with Haifa. The agreement includes a significant compensation package from Haifa to Haziza, reportedly amounting to four months' salary, approximately 400,000 shekels, after he earned a net salary of one million shekels for the season. This arrangement will ultimately save Maccabi Haifa over one million shekels for the upcoming season, factoring in high taxes and additional contract-related expenses such as vehicle costs. Despite the transfer and compensation deal, Haziza's salary is not expected to be negatively affected as he will receive both the payout from Haifa and a salary from Netanya. The initial reports about Haziza's departure and move to Netanya were first published by Sport 5.
