Maccabi Haifa Agrees on Compensation for Captain Dolev Haziza Ahead of Transfer to Maccabi Netanya
Maccabi Haifa is set to officially part ways with their captain, Dolev Haziza, who was informed weeks ago that he would not be part of the club's plans for the 2026/27 season. Haziza is expected to sign with Maccabi Netanya following a lengthy negotiation period during which he continued training with Haifa.
The agreement includes a significant compensation package for Haziza, estimated at four months' salary, approximately 400,000 shekels. This comes after Haziza earned a net salary of about one million shekels per season. The deal will ultimately save Maccabi Haifa over one million shekels annually, factoring in high taxes and additional contract-related expenses such as vehicle costs.
Despite the transfer and compensation arrangement, Haziza's salary is not expected to decrease due to the combined effect of the payout from Haifa and his new contract with Netanya. The initial announcement of Haziza's departure and his move to Netanya was first reported by Sport 5.
