Shin Bet Arrests Israeli Arab Suspected of Planning Server Farm Attack

Israel's internal security agency, the Shin Bet, along with the central district police, have arrested a 19-year-old Israeli Arab citizen from Kafr Qasim, identified as Mustafa Issa. Issa, who was performing national service with the Fire and Rescue services, is suspected of planning a terrorist attack and engaging in terror-related activities. According to a joint statement from the Shin Bet and police, the investigation revealed that Issa was significantly influenced by the events of "Operation Guardian of the Walls" and the Hamas massacre on October 7, 2023, which led him to plan an attack.

During his arrest, Issa was found with extensive training equipment and an airsoft weapon. His phone contained searches for combat guides and instructions on how to build explosive devices, which he had downloaded and saved. The investigation further indicated that Issa attempted to construct explosive devices using various materials and involved others in his efforts.

Issa reportedly planned to bomb a server farm connected to the technology giant Amdocs. He had gained access to the facility as part of his national service duties with the Fire and Rescue department. Following his interrogation by the Shin Bet and the central district police, a statement of charges was filed with the Central District Court, paving the way for an indictment.

The Shin Bet and police emphasized the seriousness with which they view any involvement of Israeli citizens in activities that endanger national security. They affirmed that security forces will continue to utilize all available means to thwart threats and prosecute those involved.
