Police and Shin Bet Arrest Teen Suspected of Planning Attack
Israel's Police and the Shin Bet security agency announced on Tuesday the arrest of a 19-year-old resident of Kafr Qasim, suspected of planning an attack. According to a joint statement, investigations revealed the suspect was influenced by the "Operation Guardian of the Walls" events and the October 7th Hamas attacks.
During his arrest, the suspect was found with training equipment and "airsoft" weapons. He had reportedly been researching combat instructions online and downloading files related to bomb-making. He also allegedly experimented with creating explosive devices and involved others in these activities.
The joint statement further indicated that the suspect had been searching for combat guides and bomb-making instructions on his mobile phone. He had also conducted experiments in producing explosive devices, enlisting others in the process.
Following the conclusion of the Shin Bet and the Central District's "Yamar" unit investigation, a statement of claim was filed with the Central District Court. This action precedes the formal indictment of the suspect.
