Israeli Arab Teen Arrested for Alleged Terror Plot
Security forces in Israel have arrested a 19-year-old resident of Kafr Qasim on suspicion of planning a terror attack. The arrest was the result of a joint operation by the Shin Bet security agency and the Israel Police.
The suspect, Mustafa Issa, reportedly became radicalized by events such as "Operation Guardian of the Walls" and the Hamas attacks of October 7th. Investigators found that Issa was in the planning stages of an attack, having searched his phone for combat guides and downloaded instructions for making explosives.
During his arrest, Issa was found with training equipment and airsoft guns. He also allegedly attempted to build explosive devices using various materials and shared this information with others. His investigation was conducted by the Shin Bet and the Sharon District of the Central District Police.
Following the investigation, a prosecutor's statement was filed at the Central District Court, indicating that an indictment is forthcoming. The Shin Bet and Police stated that they view any involvement of Israeli citizens in activities threatening national security very seriously and will continue to act to thwart threats and prosecute those involved.
