Two Israeli Arabs Aged 16 and 19 Arrested for Planning Attacks on Temple Mount and IDF Base

Israeli authorities have arrested two Israeli Arab youths, aged 16 and 19, from northern Israel on suspicion of planning terrorist attacks. The 16-year-old minor was detained on August 4 in the Galilee during a joint operation by the Shin Bet and the Northern District police. Investigations revealed that after pledging allegiance to ISIS, he sought online instructions to build explosive belts and intended to carry out attacks against Jewish police officers and soldiers at the Temple Mount.

A few days later, Ibrahim Kaabia, a 19-year-old resident of Haifa, was also arrested on suspicion of swearing loyalty to ISIS. He reportedly planned an attack on an IDF base in northern Israel. Both suspects hold Israeli citizenship. The Haifa District Prosecutor's Office is preparing to file indictments against them and will request their detention until the conclusion of legal proceedings.

This case highlights ongoing security concerns regarding ISIS-inspired individuals within Israel and the efforts of Israeli security agencies to prevent attacks on sensitive religious and military sites.
