Israeli Authorities Charge Two Northern Residents for Planning Attacks on Security Forces

Israeli police and the Shin Bet announced indictments against two northern residents, aged 16 and 19, who planned attacks targeting security forces at the Temple Mount and an IDF base. Both suspects pledged allegiance to the terrorist organization ISIS. The 16-year-old from the Galilee was arrested earlier this month after it was discovered he had sworn loyalty to ISIS and had been researching bomb-making instructions online. Investigations revealed his intention to carry out an attack against Jewish police officers and soldiers at the Temple Mount. Several days after his arrest, Ibrahim Kaabiya, 19, from Haifa, was also detained on suspicion of pledging allegiance to ISIS and planning an attack on an IDF base in northern Israel. The Haifa District Prosecutor's Office is set to file indictments and request their continued detention until the conclusion of legal proceedings at the Haifa District Court.
