Israeli Authorities Charge Four Negev Residents for Planning Terror Attacks in Beersheba
Israeli police and the Shin Bet security service have filed indictments against four residents of Segev Shalom in the Negev region for planning terror attacks in Beersheba. The suspects, arrested in May and June 2026 during a joint operation by the Border Police's Southern Unit, are accused of plotting to carry out a shooting attack on the Segev Shalom police station and a bombing at the Beersheba central bus station. Investigations revealed that one of the suspects initially posted content on social media inciting and supporting terrorism, and later the group coordinated to advance their terror plans.
The suspects also intended to establish a terror infrastructure aimed at targeting various security forces operating in the area. Some of the accused began their activities while still minors. The Southern District Prosecutor's Office submitted a serious indictment to the Beersheba District Court following the investigation.
In a joint statement, the Israeli police and Shin Bet described the case as a severe terror organization involving young Israeli citizens. They emphasized that the plot was thwarted before any steps toward execution were taken. Both agencies reaffirmed their commitment to rigorously prevent terror activities and prosecute those involved to the fullest extent of the law, especially when Israeli citizens seek to harm the public and residents of Israel.
