Four Bedouin Residents Arrested for Planning Terror Attacks in Beersheba

Israeli security forces uncovered a terror cell involving four residents from the Bedouin community of Segev Shalom, suspected of planning attacks against police and security forces, as well as a terror attack in Beersheba. The investigation was a joint effort by the Southern District Central Unit of the Israel Police and the Shin Bet. The suspects were arrested during May and June 2026 in a coordinated operation by the Border Police's Southern Yamas unit and transferred for interrogation.

During the investigation by the Shin Bet and the Southern District's Counterterrorism Unit, it was revealed that one of the suspects initially posted content on social media that allegedly incited and supported terrorism. Subsequently, the group conspired to carry out terror activities, including plans to shoot at the Segev Shalom police station, attack the central bus station in Beersheba, and establish a terror infrastructure aimed at targeting various security forces operating in the community.

The Southern District Prosecutor's Office filed a serious indictment against the suspects this morning at the Beersheba District Court. Some of the suspects began their activities while still minors. The authorities emphasized that this was a severe organized effort by young Israeli citizens to conduct terror operations, which was thwarted in advance before any steps toward executing the plan could be taken.
