Israeli Security Forces Arrest Four Bedouin Residents for Planned Terror Attacks in Beersheba

The Shin Bet and Israeli Police announced on Friday the arrest and indictment of four residents from the Bedouin community of Segev Shalom, suspected of planning terrorist attacks in southern Israel. The suspects, detained during May and June 2026 in a joint operation by the Border Police's Yamas unit and security forces, allegedly intended to carry out shootings at the Segev Shalom police station and a bombing at the Beersheba central bus station. Investigations revealed that one of the suspects initially posted inciting and pro-terror content on social media before the group coordinated their plans to target security forces operating in the area. The indictment, filed by the Southern District Prosecutor's Office at the Beersheba District Court, describes a serious terror conspiracy involving young Israeli citizens, some of whom began their activities as minors. Authorities emphasized that the plot was foiled before any steps toward execution could be taken, highlighting the effectiveness of the joint Shin Bet and police investigation.
