Israeli Security Forces Arrest Four Negev Residents for Planned Terror Attacks in Beersheba
Israeli police and the Shin Bet security service arrested four residents of the Negev, suspected of planning terrorist attacks against police and security forces as well as civilian targets in Beersheba. The suspects, from the community of Segev Shalom, were detained during May and June 2026 following a joint investigation by the Southern District police and Shin Bet. One suspect initially posted content on social media allegedly inciting and supporting terrorism, and the group later coordinated plans to carry out attacks.
The suspects intended to open fire on the Segev Shalom police station, carry out an attack at the central bus station in Beersheba, and establish a terror infrastructure aimed at harming various security forces operating in the area. Some of the suspects began their activities while still minors. The indictment was filed on Friday morning by the Southern District Prosecutor's Office at the Beersheba District Court.
Israeli authorities emphasized the severity of Israeli citizens' involvement in terrorism and praised the preemptive disruption of the plot before any steps toward execution were taken. Police and Shin Bet affirmed their commitment to decisively thwart terror plans and ensure full legal accountability for those involved in terrorism targeting Israeli civilians and residents.
