Israeli Police Arrest Armed Arab Cell Near Shfaram Plotting Assassination

Israeli police thwarted an assassination attempt in northern Israel by arresting three masked Arab suspects from the village of Kafr Khalaf. The suspects were apprehended in Basmat Tivon while allegedly en route to carry out a murder. During a routine patrol, officers spotted a vehicle without license plates parked in a dirt lot and observed the suspects fleeing. After a brief chase, the suspects were detained, and ammunition was found on their persons. Further searches uncovered additional weapons, ammunition, and magazines in and around the vehicle.

The suspects are believed to have operated as an assassination cell. The court approved the police's request to extend their detention. This incident is part of a series of assassinations and assassination attempts within the Arab sector in northern Israel. Just days earlier, a 30-year-old man was killed and two others wounded in a similar attack in the same region.

The police continue to investigate and monitor such violent activities amid ongoing tensions in the northern Arab communities.
