Israeli Police Foil Attempted Assassination in Nahariya by Arresting Armed Suspect
During an operational activity in Nahariya, Israeli police officers identified a suspicious vehicle leaving the Galilee Medical Center parking lot, driven recklessly. Upon stopping the vehicle, officers discovered it was a "hit car" with cloned license plates, commonly used by criminals to carry out violent acts. Inside the car, police found a loaded firearm and a magazine full of bullets. The suspect, a 22-year-old resident of Acre, was immediately arrested and taken for questioning. Authorities believe he was en route to commit a criminal assassination, which was prevented thanks to the vigilance of the officers. The vehicle and weapons were confiscated by the police. Following the initial investigation, the suspect was brought before a court, which extended his detention until July 6, 2026, to allow further investigation.
