Man Charged with Planning Drone Attack on Amdocs Servers

A 20-year-old resident of Kafr Qasim, Mustafa Issa, has been indicted for planning a terror attack against a strategic target in Israel, motivated by the "Swords of Iron" war. The indictment, filed by the Central District Attorney's Office, details Issa's plan to carry out an attack using an explosive device or by dropping one from a drone.

Over approximately 18 months, Issa volunteered with the fire and rescue services to gather information on potential targets. He eventually focused his plan on the server farm of the technology company Amdocs in Ra'anana, believing an attack there would cause severe diplomatic and economic damage to Israel.

Issa downloaded guides and videos on manufacturing explosives and lone attacker tactics. He attempted to assemble an explosive device using fireworks and other materials, and also prepared a mixture of sulfur and charcoal, which he later destroyed after an unsuccessful experiment. He also acquired a drone and related equipment, studying instructional materials on attaching explosives to drones.

The indictment charges Issa with preparing for an act of terror, malicious damage with explosives, operating a weapon for terror purposes, and training for terror. The prosecution has requested his detention until the end of legal proceedings, citing his high level of danger and his stated motivations, including the "Swords of Iron" war and his education.

The investigation was conducted by the Shin Bet and the Israel Police.
