Israeli Man Charged with Planning Major Terror Attack on Amdocs Servers

The State Prosecutor's Office has filed an indictment against 20-year-old Israeli citizen Mustafa Issa from Kafr Qasim for offenses against state security with nationalistic motives. According to the indictment, filed by attorney Assaf Harlopsky, Issa decided to carry out a terror attack against a strategic target in Israel during the "Swords of Iron" war. For approximately a year and a half, driven by nationalist ideology, he planned to detonate an explosive device or drop one via drone.

To gather intelligence, Issa volunteered with the fire and rescue services, using his role to survey potential targets. He ultimately decided to focus his attack on the server farm of the company Amdocs in Ra'anana, believing that damaging it would cause severe diplomatic and economic harm to Israel. As part of his preparations, he downloaded guides and videos on manufacturing weapons and explosives, and on the operational patterns of lone attackers, using them for training.

The indictment details that Issa attempted to assemble an explosive device by mixing flammable materials with fireworks and detonators he purchased. In another instance, he prepared a mixture of sulfur, charcoal, and other substances, but destroyed it after an unsuccessful experiment. Concurrently, he acquired a drone and accessories to attach a bomb, studying instructional materials on mounting explosives onto drones to execute his plan.

The charges against Issa include preparing for a terror act of intentional damage with explosives, acting with a weapon for terror purposes, and training or instructing for terror purposes. The Central District Prosecutor's Office requested that Issa be held in custody until the legal proceedings conclude, citing his high level of danger due to his active steps in executing his plans and his motives, which include the "Swords of Iron" war, IDF operations, and what he described as his education in hating Israel.
