Israeli Arab Man Charged with Planning Terror Attack on Tech Firm

An Israeli Arab citizen, 20-year-old Mustafa Issa from Kafr Qasim, has been indicted for planning a terror attack against the server farm of the technology company Amdocs in Ra'anana. The indictment, filed by the State Prosecutor's Office, alleges that Issa, motivated by the "Swords of Iron War," aimed to strike a strategic target in Israel. He reportedly volunteered with the fire department to gather intelligence on potential targets, eventually focusing on Amdocs' servers due to their perceived potential to cause significant diplomatic and economic damage to Israel.

Over approximately 18 months, Issa allegedly downloaded guides on manufacturing weapons and explosives, and conducted unsuccessful attempts to create a bomb. He also acquired a drone and related equipment, studying instructional materials on its use for attacks. The indictment charges him with preparing for an act of terror, malicious damage with explosives, weapons activity for terror purposes, and training for terror.

The prosecution is seeking to keep Issa in custody until the end of legal proceedings, citing his high level of danger and the initiation of his plan's execution. According to the prosecution, Issa stated his motives included the ongoing war, Israeli military actions, and his education which he claimed instilled hatred for Israel. The investigation was conducted by the Shin Bet and Israel Police.
