Israeli Arab Charged with Planning Server Farm Bombing

An indictment was filed on Thursday against Mustafa Issa, a 20-year-old Israeli Arab resident of Kafr Qasim, for offenses against state security motivated by nationalism. Issa is accused of planning a terror attack on the Amdocs computer server farm in Ra'anana, intending to use an explosive device delivered by drone or planted directly. For approximately 18 months, Issa allegedly planned the attack, even volunteering for the fire and rescue services to scout potential targets. He reportedly decided to focus on Amdocs, believing an attack there would cause severe diplomatic and economic damage to Israel.

As part of his preparations, Issa downloaded guides on manufacturing weapons and explosives and studied the operational patterns of lone attackers. He attempted to construct an explosive device by mixing flammable materials with fireworks and detonators, and in another instance, created a mixture of sulfur, charcoal, and other substances. After these experiments failed, he destroyed the mixtures. He also acquired a drone and accessories, intending to attach an explosive device and watched instructional videos on drone-based attacks.

The prosecution requested that Issa be held in custody until the end of legal proceedings, citing his high level of danger due to his active steps in executing his plan and his stated motivations, including the Swords of Iron War and his education which he claims fostered hatred for Israel.
