Israeli Arab Arrested for Allegedly Planning Terror Attack
Israeli security forces have arrested a 19-year-old resident of Kafr Qasim, identified as Mustafa Issa, on suspicion of planning a terrorist attack. The Shin Bet domestic security agency and the undercover police unit YAMAM were involved in the arrest.
According to the investigation, Issa sought combat instructions, saved manuals on making explosives, and attempted to construct explosive devices. During his apprehension, training equipment and a replica firearm were found.
Issa, an Israeli Arab, reportedly served in the Kabaut ve-Azala fire and rescue service as part of his national civic service, known as Sherut Leumi. Investigators allege he exploited his access to strategic sites gained through this service to plan attacks. Specifically, he is accused of planning to bomb a server center belonging to the company Amdocs.
Following the investigation, prosecutors have filed preliminary charges against Issa ahead of a formal indictment.
