Shin Bet Thwarts Major Terror Attack Plot by Israeli Arab

The Shin Bet (Israel's internal security agency) and the police have arrested a 19-year-old Israeli citizen from Kafr Qasim for allegedly planning a major terrorist attack. The suspect, Mustafa Issa, was apprehended in recent weeks during a joint operation. Investigators believe Issa was heavily influenced by recent events, including Operation Guardian of the Walls, the October 7th Hamas attacks, and the subsequent massacre.

During his interrogation, Issa reportedly admitted to researching combat tactics and downloading instructions for making explosives. He was also found to be attempting to construct explosive devices using readily available materials and was recruiting others to assist him. Authorities discovered a significant amount of training equipment and airsoft weapons at his residence.

The Shin Bet stated that Issa had already begun planning the attack and was seeking materials for an extensive weapons arsenal. The agency emphasized its commitment to preventing threats and taking strict legal action against those involved in activities endangering national security.

Following the investigation and interrogation, the Shin Bet and Sharon District Police have submitted a request to the Central District Court in anticipation of formal charges being filed against Issa. This incident follows a previous announcement by the Shin Bet, police, and the IDF about dismantling a large terrorist network operating in Jerusalem and Judea and Samaria, which led to the arrest of over 30 suspects.
