Shin Bet, Police Arrest Arab Israeli Man for Alleged Bomb Plot
Israel's internal security agency, the Shin Bet, and the Israeli Police announced Tuesday the arrest of Mustafa Issa, a 19-year-old resident of Kafr Qasim, in recent weeks. Issa is accused of planning a bombing attack, and a statement of claim has been filed against him in the Central District Court in Lod, paving the way for an indictment.
According to the joint statement, Issa was allegedly influenced by the "Guardian of the Walls" military operation in Gaza and the Hamas attack on October 7. During his interrogation, investigators reportedly found that Issa had been researching combat instructors online and studying materials on how to build explosive devices. He is also alleged to have attempted to construct explosives and shared this information with others.
During Issa's arrest, authorities reportedly seized "numerous training equipment and airsoft weapons" from his possession. The investigation indicated that Issa was in the planning stages of carrying out an attack.
