Israeli Man Charged With Planning Terror Attack on Amdocs Data Center

The State Prosecutor's Office in Israel has filed an indictment against 20-year-old Mustafa Issa from Kafr Qasim, accusing him of preparing a terrorist attack targeting the Amdocs server farm in Ra'anana. According to the indictment, Issa allegedly planned to detonate an explosive device or drop it from a drone. The prosecution claims that amidst the ongoing 'Swords of Iron' war, Issa decided to attack a strategically important Israeli facility. His preparations reportedly spanned about 18 months. Prosecutors allege that Issa volunteered for the fire and rescue services to survey potential targets and gather intelligence. He is said to have chosen the Amdocs server farm, believing an attack would cause significant state and economic damage to Israel. He allegedly downloaded instructions and videos on manufacturing weapons and explosives, as well as materials on lone-wolf terrorist tactics. The investigation suggests Issa attempted to build an explosive device using flammable materials mixed with fireworks and firecrackers, and later a mixture of sulfur, charcoal, and other components, which failed. He also acquired a drone and related equipment for carrying payloads, studying how to attach explosives to drones. Issa faces charges including preparing a terrorist act with explosives, weapons offenses for terrorist purposes, and receiving terrorist training. The prosecution has requested his remand until the end of the trial, citing his high risk due to the practical steps he allegedly took. The investigation was conducted by the Shin Bet and the Israel Police.
