Volunteer Firefighter Arrested for Alleged Terror Plot Against Tech Firm

Israeli security forces have arrested a 19-year-old volunteer firefighter, Mustafa Issa, a resident of Kafr Qasim, on suspicion of planning a series of terror attacks. The Shin Bet confirmed Issa's arrest, stating he is suspected of serious terror offenses, including planning to detonate an explosive device at a server farm belonging to the technology giant Amdocs in central Israel.

Investigators believe Issa exploited his position as a firefighter, which provided him with extensive access and knowledge of strategic sites in central Israel. He allegedly identified the Amdocs server farm as a preferred target. His radicalization reportedly began at age 16 and intensified significantly following the outbreak of the war in Gaza, as he sought ways to harm national security.

During the investigation, Issa is accused of contacting foreign hostile elements, including Hamas operatives and Iranian intelligence officials. Through these contacts, he allegedly obtained combat guides, downloaded instructions for constructing explosives from various materials, and conducted practical experiments in making explosive devices. A search of his home uncovered extensive training equipment and airsoft weapons.

Furthermore, Issa is suspected of attempting to expand his terror infrastructure by recruiting two acquaintances from Kafr Qasim to join his cell. Both individuals were arrested and held for two weeks, but insufficient evidence was found to indict them. Following a complex investigation by the Shin Bet and police, a statement of intent to indict Issa was filed with the Central District Court, preceding the formal filing of charges.
