Firefighter Trainee Arrested for Alleged Terror Plot, Hamas and Iran Links

Israeli security forces have arrested a 19-year-old Arab Israeli from Kafr Qasim who was serving as a firefighter during his national service. The young man, who worked at a fire station in the Sharon region serving multiple communities, was detained about a month ago on suspicion of planning terror attacks and advancing terrorist activities across Israel.

Investigators believe the suspect exploited his firefighter role and access to various locations, including examining a strategic site as a potential target for an attack. The investigation also revealed that the suspect established contact with Hamas operatives and an individual identified with Iranian intelligence. Evidence suggests the suspect's interest in terrorism began at age 16, prior to his national service. During a raid on the suspect's home, airsoft weapons and extensive training equipment were seized.
