Volunteer Firefighter Charged with Planning Attack in Central Israel
Prosecutors have filed a statement of intent to indict a 19-year-old volunteer firefighter from Kafr Qasim on suspicion of planning terrorist activities and attacks. The young man was arrested approximately one month ago. According to the investigation, the suspect allegedly planned an attack at a strategic location he accessed through his volunteer work at a fire station in central Israel.
Further suspicions include that the individual made contact with Hamas operatives and an individual linked to Iranian intelligence. He is also accused of attempting to form a terrorist cell and recruit two acquaintances from his hometown of Kafr Qasim. Police also reported that the suspect attempted to manufacture explosive devices.
