Firefighter Arrested for Alleged Hamas Ties and Terror Plot
Israeli security forces are investigating a serious security incident involving a 19-year-old firefighter from Kafr Qasim who allegedly maintained contact with Hamas and an individual linked to Iranian intelligence. The young man, serving in national service at a fire station in central Israel, was arrested approximately a month ago on suspicion of promoting terrorist activity and planning several attacks.
According to the investigation, at least one planned attack targeted a strategic site accessible to the firefighter through his job. He is also suspected of attempting to establish a terror cell and recruit two acquaintances from his hometown. These two individuals were detained for two weeks but no sufficient evidence has yet been found to indict them.
During a raid on the firefighter's home, airsoft guns and extensive training equipment were seized. He has been in custody for about a month, and an indictment is expected to be filed against him on Tuesday.
The fire station serves multiple communities in the central region.
