Yair Golan Files Defamation Lawsuit Against Sara Netanyahu
Yair Golan, chairman of the Democratic Movement, announced Thursday that he has filed a defamation lawsuit against Sara Netanyahu. The suit stems from comments Netanyahu made in an interview with Channel 14 regarding Golan's actions on the morning of October 7th.
In the interview, Netanyahu questioned why Golan arrived at the combat zone in the early morning hours, stating that the Prime Minister was not yet aware of the unfolding events at that time. Following these remarks, Golan sent Netanyahu a legal warning last week, demanding a public apology and compensation for Nova party massacre survivors.
He warned that if his demands were not met, he would file a lawsuit seeking at least 2.5 million shekels. Netanyahu rejected Golan's claims and sent him a counter-warning letter. Reports indicate she demanded Golan remove publications and apologize, threatening a lawsuit of 1 million shekels if he refused.
Upon announcing the lawsuit, Golan stated, "There is no lie she will not tell, and no red line she will not cross."
