Yair Golan Sues Sara Netanyahu for Defamation Over October 7th Remarks
Democratic Movement party chairman Yair Golan has filed a NIS 2.5 million lawsuit against Sara Netanyahu for defamation and incitement to violence. The suit stems from an interview on Channel 14 where Netanyahu implied Golan had prior knowledge of the October 7th Hamas attacks.
According to the lawsuit filed in the Central District Court in Lod, the interview led to concrete warnings from intelligence sources about threats against Golan. A report cited in the suit indicated a 450% surge in online incitement directed at him.
The increased threat level has necessitated a significant expansion and enhancement of Golan's private security arrangements, particularly in anticipation of upcoming elections.
