צעיר תושב מג'ד אל-כרום נמצא בחקירה בחשד שקיים קשר עם גורם לבנוני, וכן בחשד שניסה להעביר אליו כספים באופן עקיף מחוץ לישראל. על פי גורמי הביטחון, הצעיר ידע את טבעו של הגורם איתו יצר קשר.

המשטרה והשב"כ הודיעו כי ההליכים המשפטיים נגד הצעיר יימשכו, וצפוי כי ביום ראשון, 20 בספטמבר, יוגש נגדו כתב אישום. פרטי התפקידים שהצעיר חשוד שביצע, וכן סכום הכסף שניסו להעביר אליו מהצד הלבנוני, לא פורטו על ידי הרשויות.

הפרטים הללו נחשפים לקראת הבחירות המוניציפליות הצפויות בשנת 2026, כאשר נבחנת ההתפתחות הפוליטית במגזר הערבי לקראת ה-27 באוקטובר.
