Partner Recalls Finding Lawyer Murdered in Rishon Lezion Office

A lawyer was fatally shot in his Rishon Lezion office on August 4, 2026, in a shocking incident that unfolded in the afternoon. The victim's partner, who discovered the body and alerted police and emergency services, described finding the lawyer lying under a desk, covered in blood. He recalled hearing small popping sounds initially, not realizing they were gunshots.

The suspect arrived at the Lakhish District Police headquarters around 4 p.m. and confessed to the killing, stating, "I shot him." During interrogation by the Central District Police investigators, the suspect promised to help locate the firearm he discarded while fleeing. He explained that he confronted the lawyer over a debt of 15,000 shekels that had been ignored for three years. When the lawyer refused to talk, the suspect pulled out a gun loaded with five bullets and shot him.

Security footage from the building shows the suspect calmly entering and heading toward the lawyer's office before the violent incident occurred. After fleeing the scene, the suspect went to fields between Ashdod and Ashkelon, where he likely discarded the weapon. He then chose to surrender to authorities. The police continue to investigate the case.
