Suspect Enters Office Lobby Minutes Before Lawyer's Fatal Shooting in Rishon Lezion

Security footage released shows the suspect, a 23-year-old man from Ramla, entering the lobby of an office building on Rozhansky Street in Rishon Lezion shortly before fatally shooting a lawyer in his office. After the shooting, the suspect fled the scene but later surrendered at the Ashdod police station and was arrested. Police plan to request an extension of his detention tomorrow.

Investigations reveal the shooting stemmed from a financial dispute, possibly over a 15,000 shekel compensation claim. The suspect claimed he never received the compensation, while the lawyer insisted he had handed it to the suspect's father. Authorities are examining whether the shooting was premeditated or a sudden escalation of an argument. It was also found that the suspect did not have a firearms license.

The lawyer's partner, present during the incident, recounted hearing a brief conversation followed by gunfire. He discovered the lawyer wounded under a desk and immediately called emergency services. He described the deceased as a modest and gentle person who was planning a family vacation soon. The partner also mentioned the lawyer had recently been troubled by a client but never anticipated a deadly outcome.
