New Poll Shows Netanyahu's Likud Weakening, Opposition Party Leading
A new poll published Friday in the Maariv newspaper indicates a significant shift in Israeli public opinion, suggesting Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu should be concerned about his Likud party's standing. According to the survey, if elections were held today, the opposition party Yishrai! would emerge as the leading party with 23 Knesset seats.
In contrast, Likud would be reduced to just 18 seats, marking a substantial decline. The current coalition's bloc of parties would collectively secure only 50 seats. The poll also shows a new joint list representing reservists and economic interests successfully crossing the electoral threshold, garnering 4 seats.
Other parties' projected seat allocations include: Yachad with 13 seats, Democrats and Yisrael Beiteinu with 9 seats each, Otzma Yehudit with 8 seats, and Yahadut HaTorah, Shas, and the Joint Arab List each with 7 seats. Religious Zionism and Identity would receive 6 seats, Ra'am 5 seats, and Am Israel and the reservist/economic list 4 seats each.
Several parties failed to surpass the electoral threshold. The poll was conducted by Lazar Research in collaboration with Panel4ALL.
