New Poll Shows Netanyahu Bloc Edging Ahead of Opposition
A new poll released by Channel 13 News on Wednesday indicates a shift in the Israeli political landscape, with the bloc supporting Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu gaining a slight majority for the first time in a considerable period. The poll shows Gadi Eisenkot's "Yashar" party leading with 22 mandates, while Netanyahu's Likud party is at 18 mandates.
However, the most significant finding is that Netanyahu's bloc now commands 54 mandates compared to 52 for the "change bloc" (opposition parties). This shift occurs amidst fluctuating support for various parties.
Naftali Bennett's "Bayit Yehudi" party drops to 12 mandates, and Yair Golan's "HaDemocratim" remains stable at 10. Avigdor Lieberman's "Yisrael Beiteinu" and the Arab Joint List each receive 8 mandates. The union of Bezalel Smotrich's Religious Zionism and Moshe Feiglin's "Zeut" also reaches 8 mandates, as does Itamar Ben-Gvir's "Otzma Yehudit" party.
Among the Haredi (ultra-Orthodox) parties, United Torah Judaism and Shas each secure 7 mandates, showing relative stability. Ofer Winter's "Amcha Yisrael" party makes a significant jump to 6 mandates, as does Ra'am, led by Mansour Abbas.
Notably, Yoaz Hendel and Yaron Zelekha's "HaMiluimnikim VeHaKalkalit" party remains below the electoral threshold, failing to cross it according to this survey.
