Wizz Air Significantly Expands Flights From Israel, Restores Routes

Wizz Air is substantially increasing its flight operations from Israel, restoring five previously suspended routes and boosting frequencies on eleven others, impacting a total of 16 destinations. The airline will resume flights from Ben Gurion Airport to London Gatwick, Venice, Catania, Cluj, and Iasi. Specifically, the Tel Aviv to Catania route will see four weekly flights, London Gatwick five, and Venice three. Flights to Cluj and Iasi will operate twice weekly.

Concurrently, Wizz Air is increasing the number of flights on existing routes. The Budapest route will see the most significant change, with flights rising from 14 to 21 per week. Flights to Rome will increase from 12 to 14 weekly, and to Milan from seven to 14, averaging two daily flights between Israel and Milan. Other European cities will also experience increased service.

Frequencies to Bratislava and Naples will rise from five to seven flights per week, Bucharest from 11 to 14, and Sofia from six to seven. Additional flights will also be added to Athens (seven from five weekly), Varna (three from two), Vilnius (four from two), and Warsaw (five from four).

This expansion follows a period of instability in international air travel to Israel, during which foreign carriers frequently reduced or suspended flights to Ben Gurion Airport due to security concerns. Tickets for the restored and increased frequency flights are now available for booking, with prices varying by travel date, destination, and purchase time.
