Wizz Air Expands Israel Operations With New Routes and Increased Frequencies

Low-cost airline Wizz Air has announced a significant expansion of its operations in Israel, adding five new routes and increasing the frequency of flights on eleven existing routes. The new flights are now available for purchase on the company's website and app.

The newly launched routes include Catania, London Gatwick, Venice, Cluj, and Iasi, with weekly frequencies of four, five, three, two, and two flights respectively. This expansion aims to offer more travel options and competitive pricing for Israeli travelers.

Wizz Air is also boosting the number of weekly flights on popular existing routes. For example, flights to Budapest will increase from 14 to 21 per week, Milan from 7 to 14, and Warsaw from 4 to 5. Other routes seeing increased frequencies include Bratislava, Rome, Naples, Bucharest, Sofia, Varna, Athens, and Vilnius.

Examples of current pricing show flights to London Gatwick starting at 70 euros, Venice at 60 euros, and Rome at 56 euros, highlighting the airline's focus on affordability. This move by Wizz Air signals a growing commitment to the Israeli market and is expected to stimulate travel between Israel and various European destinations.
