Wizz Air Expands Israel Operations Ahead of Holiday Season

Low-cost carrier Wizz Air announced on Tuesday its expansion of operations in Israel, coinciding with the approach of the holiday season. The airline will relaunch five routes and increase flight frequency to eleven additional destinations.

Wizz Air's flights to and from Israel have been suspended multiple times over the past year, notably due to the ongoing conflict. The newly reactivated routes include Catania, London Gatwick, Venice, Cluj, and Iasi, with weekly frequencies of 4, 5, 3, 2, and 2 flights respectively.

Furthermore, the airline is boosting weekly flight frequencies on routes to Budapest (from 14 to 21), Bratislava (from 5 to 7), Rome (from 12 to 14), Milan (from 7 to 14), Naples (from 5 to 7), Bucharest (from 11 to 14), Sofia (from 6 to 7), Varna (from 2 to 3), Athens (from 5 to 7), Vilnius (from 2 to 4), and Warsaw (from 4 to 5).

This expansion comes as the National Security Council has issued warnings about dangerous destinations for Israelis during the holidays, while the Israel Airports Authority stated it is working towards a return to routine operations.
