The story · English

Low-cost carrier Wizz Air is significantly expanding its flight operations from Ben Gurion Airport, adding 46 weekly flights to its schedule. This expansion includes the return of five routes and increased frequencies on 11 existing ones.

Five routes are resuming service: London Gatwick will see five weekly flights, Catania four, and Venice three. Two weekly flights each will operate to Cluj and Iasi in Romania.

The majority of the new capacity comes from increased frequencies on established routes. Thirty additional weekly flights will be distributed across 11 routes. Budapest will experience the most substantial change, increasing from 14 to 21 weekly flights, averaging three per day. Milan's frequency will double from seven to 14 weekly flights.

Other popular destinations also receive frequency boosts. Rome increases from 12 to 14 weekly flights, Bucharest from 11 to 14, and Athens, Bratislava, and Naples each go from five to seven weekly flights. Vilnius will double its service from two to four weekly flights.

Smaller increases are noted on routes to Sofia, Varna, and Warsaw. Sofia rises from six to seven weekly flights, Varna from two to three, and Warsaw from four to five. In total, the 11 routes with increased frequencies will now operate 103 flights weekly, up from 73. Combined with the 16 weekly flights on the five returning routes, the total expansion amounts to 46 new weekly flights.

Wizz Air states that flights under the expanded schedule are available for booking, offering Israeli travelers more options to European destinations, particularly Budapest, Milan, Rome, and Athens.
