Wizz Air Expands Israel Operations With Dozens of New Flights

Low-cost carrier Wizz Air announced a significant expansion of its operations in Israel, adding dozens of weekly flights from Ben Gurion Airport. The airline is resuming service on five popular routes and increasing flight frequencies on 11 existing European destinations.

The newly reinstated routes include Gatwick Airport in London (five flights weekly), Catania in Sicily (four flights weekly), Venice (three flights weekly), Cluj in Romania (two flights weekly), and Iasi in Romania (two flights weekly). Ticket sales for all flights are now open.

Wizz Air is also boosting frequencies on 11 other routes. The most substantial increase will be on the Budapest route, jumping from 14 to 21 flights per week, averaging three daily flights. The Milan route will double its service from seven to 14 weekly flights, and the Rome route will increase from 12 to 14 weekly flights.

Other routes receiving increased service include Bucharest (from 11 to 14 flights weekly), Athens, Naples, and Bratislava (each increasing from five to seven flights weekly), Sofia (from six to seven flights), Vilnius (from two to four flights), Warsaw (from four to five flights), and Varna (from two to three flights weekly).

This expansion comes amid strong demand for European travel and is expected to intensify competition with other airlines, particularly for city break and classic tourist destinations.
