Hezbollah Drone Attack Met With Israeli Airstrikes in Southern Lebanon

In the early hours of September 2nd, Hezbollah launched two attack drones targeting Israeli military forces near the Al-Tahir mountain ridge in southern Lebanon. The Israeli military (IDF) reported that soldiers fired on one of the drones, successfully downing it, with no casualties sustained. In retaliation, the Israeli Air Force conducted airstrikes against Hezbollah targets in the Nabatieh area. The IDF stated these locations were utilized for planning and coordinating attacks against both Israeli soldiers and civilians.

Al-Mayadeen, a television channel affiliated with Hezbollah, reported that Israeli aircraft struck targets near Kfar Rumman and Arab Salim, also in southern Lebanon, during the night. Separately, the IDF announced that interceptor missiles were likely launched in error overnight near the northern Israeli border with Lebanon. Following air raid sirens that warned of enemy aircraft incursions in several northern areas on Wednesday night, an initial investigation indicated that several interceptor missiles were apparently fired at a false target, according to an IDF statement.
