Hezbollah Drone Intercepted, IDF Strikes Targets in Southern Lebanon

The Israeli military successfully intercepted a bomb-laden drone launched by Hezbollah towards forces operating in the Al-Taher mountain ridge area overnight Wednesday. The drone was identified and engaged by soldiers, with no casualties reported among the troops. In response to the drone launch, Israeli fighter jets conducted targeted strikes against Hezbollah terror infrastructure in the Nabatieh region of southern Lebanon.

The military stated that the struck infrastructure was used by Hezbollah operatives for planning and executing terror attacks aimed at Israeli forces and civilians. The operation was carried out to neutralize an immediate threat. Defense officials emphasized that the IDF will continue to act forcefully against repeated Hezbollah attempts to harm Israeli forces.

Separately, air raid sirens were activated for the first time since June in the northern Israeli communities of HaGosherim, Ma'ayan Baruch, and Kfar Yuval, due to a suspected drone infiltration. The Home Front Command later announced the incident was over and residents could leave protected areas. The IDF reported that following an initial investigation into the northern alerts, it appears that several interceptors were launched towards a false target.
