Israel Strikes Hezbollah in Southern Lebanon After Drone Attack

Southern Lebanon experienced intense Israeli airstrikes and artillery shelling overnight and into the morning, following a Hezbollah drone attack targeting Israeli forces. The Israeli military stated that two explosive drones were launched by Hezbollah towards its troops in the Ali al-Taher area. While one drone was intercepted, no Israeli soldiers were injured. In response, the Israeli Air Force conducted strikes against Hezbollah infrastructure in the Nabatieh region, which the IDF claimed were used for planning and executing attacks against Israeli forces and civilians. Later, air raid sirens sounded in northern Israel after an aerial target, believed to be from Lebanon, was detected. Israeli air defense systems engaged the target, with no reported casualties.

Local sources in Lebanon reported that the Israeli strikes hit areas around Ali al-Taher, Nabatieh al-Fawqa, and the outskirts of Arbaysalim, with one strike reportedly targeting a room near a village cemetery. Israeli artillery also shelled the Wady al-Hajir, Douha Kafr Rumman, Mansouri, Ali al-Taher, and Nabatieh al-Fawqa areas. Some reports indicated the use of phosphorus in certain shelled locations. Additionally, an Israeli drone struck an apartment in the Al-Maslakh neighborhood without causing injuries, while shelling and reconnaissance continued in Aita al-Shaab, Mansouri, Zawtar al-Sharqiyeh, and Beit Yahoun.

Further reports from local sources indicated that Israeli forces set fire to several homes in the town of Tulousa, shelled Mansouri and Zawtar al-Sharqiyeh, and observed Israeli military vehicle movements in the town of Haddatha. These developments occur as the Israeli military continues its operations within southern Lebanon's security zone, where it recently announced the discovery of anti-tank missiles, launchers, bombs, explosives, and Hezbollah military infrastructure.
