Extreme Heatwave to Hit Israel This Weekend, Peaking Saturday and Sunday

Israel is expected to experience a severe heatwave starting Friday and lasting at least until Monday, with the highest temperatures occurring on Saturday and Sunday. The heatwave will bring extreme heat stress over several consecutive days. The Jordan Valley and Arava regions will face the highest temperatures in the country, reaching between 44 and 46 degrees Celsius. In the Shephelah and Negev areas, temperatures will climb up to 38 degrees Celsius, while mountainous regions will see temperatures ranging from 33 to 35 degrees. The coastal plain will have the lowest temperatures, around 33 degrees Celsius, but combined with approximately 70% humidity, it will feel like about 40 degrees Celsius. Residents are advised to reconsider outdoor plans for the weekend due to the intense heat conditions. The forecast indicates that relief from the heatwave is not expected before Monday.
