IDF Eliminates Hamas Terrorists Involved in Hostage Taking and Ceasefire Violations

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced earlier this week the elimination of two Hamas military wing terrorists in the Gaza City area, citing violations of the ceasefire agreement. Hassan Mahmoud Zaym was killed on Wednesday, and Adham Zahi Salim Ziyara was eliminated the previous day in a separate strike. According to the IDF spokesperson, Zaym infiltrated Israel during the October 7th massacre and was actively involved in holding hostages, including Amit Soussana, Keith Siegel, Aviva Siegel, and Dafna Ellikman.

Both terrorists had recently been advancing terror operations against IDF forces and Israeli civilians, attempting to rebuild Hamas's military capabilities. Their activities included firing at forces and planting explosives near the "Yellow Line," prompting the air strike to neutralize the threat. The IDF stated that Southern Command forces are deployed in the Gaza Strip according to the agreement's framework and will continue to act to remove any immediate threats to forces in the field.

Separately, throughout the war, the IDF and Shin Bet have targeted and disrupted 16 key financial operatives responsible for transferring funds to finance Hamas's military activities. These individuals managed fund transfers exceeding $1 billion for Hamas's military operations in Gaza, utilizing a network of money changers in Turkey and the Gaza Strip. Among the senior financial operatives eliminated were Ibrahim Abu Shamala, head of finance for the military wing, and Muhammad Abu Alwan, responsible for the political wing's finances. Additionally, heads of financial transfer infrastructures, including Khader Jamasi, Ihab Karizem, and Hussein Kadra, who managed fund offsetting and delivery for Hamas, were neutralized. These funds are used by Hamas to finance terrorists, arm itself, rebuild terror infrastructure, and promote terror plots against Israeli forces and civilians.
