IDF Eliminates Hamas Terrorists Involved in Oct. 7 Massacre and Hostage Holding

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced on Thursday the elimination of two Hamas terrorists in the Gaza Strip. One of the eliminated terrorists, identified as Hassan Mahmoud Ziam, a commander in Hamas's military wing, allegedly participated in the October 7th massacre and was involved in holding Israeli hostages. According to the IDF, Ziam crossed into Israeli territory during the October 7th attack and, throughout the war, was involved in the captivity of hostages Amit Soussana, Keith Siegel, Aviva Siegel, and Dafna Ellakim in Gaza.

In a separate operation earlier this week, on Tuesday, Adham Zahi Salim Ziyara, another operative in Hamas's military wing, was also killed in the same area. The IDF stated that both terrorists had recently been engaged in advancing terror plots against IDF forces and Israeli civilians, while simultaneously working to restore Hamas's capabilities and systematically violating the ceasefire agreement. Their activities included firing at IDF forces and planting explosives near the border.

The IDF emphasized that these strikes were carried out from the air to neutralize the immediate threat posed by the terrorists. Forces under the Southern Command continue to operate in the area to remove any immediate threats to security forces and Israeli citizens.
