IDF Eliminates Two Hamas Militants Involved in October 7th Massacre and Hostage Holding
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced the elimination of two Hamas militants in the Gaza City area earlier this week. The first, Hassan Mahmoud Ziam, identified as a commander in Hamas's military wing, was killed in an airstrike on Wednesday. Ziam had infiltrated Israel during the October 7th massacre and was subsequently involved in holding hostages Amit Soussana, Keith and Aviva Siegel, and Dafna Elyakim in Gaza.
The second militant, Adham Zahi Salim Ziara, also an operative in Hamas's military wing, was killed in a separate strike on Tuesday. According to the IDF, both militants had been advancing terror plans against IDF forces and Israeli civilians, working to restore Hamas's capabilities while systematically violating the ceasefire agreement. Their activities included firing at Israeli forces and planting explosives near the "yellow line," a term often used to refer to the border area.
The IDF stated that the militants were eliminated from the air to neutralize the threat they posed. Southern Command forces are deployed in the area and will continue to operate to remove any immediate threats.
