IDF Eliminates Two Hamas Commanders in Gaza City
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced the elimination of two Hamas commanders from the group's military wing in the Gaza City area. An airstrike killed Hassan Mahmoud Siam, whom the IDF stated participated in the October 7, 2023, invasion of Israel. The military also reported that Siam was involved in holding hostages Amit Susannah, Kit Segal, Aviva Segal, and Dafna Elyakim captive during the war.
Earlier in the week, another Hamas operative, Adham Subhi Salim Ziara, was killed in the same vicinity. According to the IDF's press service, both commanders had recently been involved in preparing attacks against Israeli soldiers and civilians. They were also reportedly engaged in rebuilding Hamas's resources, which the IDF characterized as systematic violations of a ceasefire agreement.
Specifically, the IDF stated that the two commanders organized rocket fire targeting Israeli forces and planted explosive devices near the "yellow line," referring to the border area.
