Israeli Military Eliminates Two Hamas Operatives in Gaza City

The Israeli military announced Friday the elimination of two Hamas military wing operatives in airstrikes in Gaza City earlier this week. Hassan Mahmoud Siam, described as a commander in Hamas's military wing, was killed on Wednesday. The previous day, Adham Subhi Ziyara, another Hamas operative, was killed in a separate strike in the same area.

According to the Israeli military, Siam infiltrated Israeli territory during the October 7th attacks and was involved in holding four hostages in Gaza: Amit Soussana, Keith Siegel, Aviva Siegel, and Dafna Elyakim. The military stated that both operatives were planning attacks against Israeli soldiers and civilians in recent weeks and were involved in rebuilding Hamas's military capabilities.

Both men were also reportedly involved in attacking Israeli forces and planting explosive devices near the "Yellow Line," an area near the Gaza border. The military stated the strikes were conducted "to eliminate the danger they posed" and that measures were taken to minimize civilian harm, including precision munitions and aerial surveillance.

Israeli forces remain deployed in the area and will continue to counter any direct threats, the military added.
